Sessions will introduce technique for creating and designing your very own manga and character!  Topics may include facial and action expressions, dialogue, character design, anime background, or paneling.  In-class art supplies will be provided.

Library storytime may include short stories, songs, finger play, flannel boards, crafts, or other educational elements including bilingual English/Spanish vocabulary. Programs are designed to teach social skills, listening comprehension, letter/number recognition, vocabulary, and to build a foundation for lifelong reading success. Program length, stories, and activities are geared toward the target audience.   

No session on July 5.

Page Turner Adventures is an award-winning children’s media company that produces fun multi-platform content for kids ages 4-10. Online adventures contain: Video stories and crafts, audiobook, flipbooks, and multiple activities that may be downloaded and reprinted. Registered participants will be emailed a link and credentials to access all content 24/7.

Audience: Ages 4-11.

Creative crafts for multiple skill levels.

In-person enrollment and registration at the Library is required. Registration is for all dates. 

The monthly CDBG "Appy Hour" covers popular apps by topic. 

Participants should bring their fully charged device with all passwords required to download Apps. Course and supplies are supported by funding from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). Per CDBG guidelines, CDBG programs are only open to Lighthouse Point residents ages 62 and over.

June and July | Open Library Hours

No registration required

Audience: All Ages

Drop in the kid's room during June and July for an adventure-themed scavenger hunt for all ages. Enter the monthly raffle for adventure-themed youth books.

Audience: Ages 13 to 17

Online Registration Required

Teens receive three volunteer hours for reading and video reviewing kids' books from the Lighthouse Point Library's collection.  Video are posted to the Library's website.  Guidelines are sent to registered participants.  Tracking school volunteer requirement are each teen's responsibility.  Adjudicated hours are not eligible.  Teen must have a Lighthouse Point Library card to participate.
